Whilst adhering to the opinion that the post of Stipendiary Magistrate in this Colony should be held by a Barrister, I have much pleasure in again drawing attention to Dr. Stewart's long and valuable service as Head Master of the Central School; and, in the event of Your Lordship not selecting a Member of the Bar for the post, I venture to recommend Dr Stewart's application to Your Lordship's most favourable consideration.
